We trusted Nate Silvers 4 years ago. I say, “Phooey on him.” I’m not trusting any polls. Before the Iowa debacle, Biden was given a 25% lead….

He called the election correctly but no one saw the Electoral College coming – where six EC delegates voted against their state popular vote and three states had enough republican precincts to flip EC representation. Biden still prevails in the flipping states. We must put our faith in the young people to get out the vote for their ideological candidates for the general election.
An interesting observation about Iowa: It suffers the same political bifurcation between the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers that the nation suffers between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

I am reminded of two things. One is a twenty year old movie with Michael Douglas which I personally enjoy called,”Falling Down”. Douglas plays a regular American citizen who snaps under society’s thumb. He encounters a character who has been refused banking services and is picketing said bank because he “is not economically viable.”
The other item of interest is a controversy here in Maryland. Our Republican governor, in order to endear himself to the citizenry, has decided we need cashless tolls. This requires anyone who uses a toll thoroughfare to purchase and maintain an electronic EZpass. If you are poor and have no credit card, you are forced to frequent the EZpass office at least once a month if not more to pay your bill forward. The working poor are penalized for being poor.

I could use some comfort at the national level, so Joe sounds good to me. This analysis of a winning strategy makes sense and it would be nice if the cats could all get together long enough to win the election. My strategy is to use the millions of dollars candidates use in ad campaigns to subsidize Democrats in solid blue states to move to the swing states long enough to establish voting residency…. that could be a retirement “job” for retired voters and a peace corps type experience for young people. They could live communally, sharing resources, putting their lives on hold temporarily for the chance to make a difference. Let me be the first to sign up!

Joe is my choice, but I’d vote for Buttiigieg or Bloomberg too. I hope you’re right about Biden winning those key states.
